BIO K. Sparks is a rap artist, music producer and writer that has inked and crafted several songs for various artists; Sparks truly embodies the term Real Hip Hop. With his passionate tone and sincere lyrics, it is very clear that he is destined to be a Hip Hop Icon.Sparks was born in South Jamaica Queens New York to a family that instilled the basic values of hard work within him. Growing up, he always knew he was destined to be an artist, "I would write lyrics in my classes...by the end of the day I would have about 5 songs". At the age of 15, he started performing in various talent venues and began to create a buzz for himself within the Queens area. A short time later, he began recording several of his original songs. To date, K Sparks has been featured on over 400 mix tapes, released 10 Albums and has released 20 Mix tapes of his own. K. Sparks second mix tape, "K. Sparks Adventures Volume 2", generated such a buzz overseas that it was nominated for London's 2006 "Best New Mix Tape Release of the Year" Award.In 2007, K. Sparks became 1 of 10 finalists of DJ Green Lanterns Freestyle competition with Sonic Bids and was featured on MTV's "Mix tape Mondays" twice. He also was the first MC from NY to win Connecticut's Hot 93.7 Underground Showdown and opened for Talib Kweli and Joe Budden. As K. Sparks buzz continued to grow, his talent was recognized by BET & was nominated as BET's "Artist of the Month" in 2007. Continuing his reign in the underground, K. Sparks started an on-line monthly series entitled "Manic Mondays"; which he released a new, original song, via the internet every Monday for an entire year, which in turn, increased his fan base ten fold.K. Sparks went on to become featured in The Source Magazine's "Unsigned Hype" column (Jan. 2010), Rap Fanatic Magazine (June 2007) and featured on several websites, including: MTV, BET, Okay Player, DJ Booth, 2 DopeBoyz, Kevin Nottingham, Nah Right, Baller Status, All HipHop, HipHopDX, Sohh, URB, iHipHop, iLLRoots, Hip Hop Lead, Im Flashy, YnotMyDream, ReUp Spot and countless others.Known for his saying, "Persistence wears down resistance, so you have to always pursue your vision and never waiver"; K. Sparks combines real life experiences, social commentary and a witty sense of humor to provide the listener with a more in depth look at society. With a positive and optimistic outlook that continues to fuel Sparks' drive, along with his unique song writing capabilities, K. Sparks is definitely the next artist to break through the industry.
